It’s been a while since I’ve walked through the shop to show you the jobs we’ve been working on so I gathered up the pictures I’ve taken over the last couple of weeks to show you what we’ve been up to. We are doing all sorts of things – Working on our Grand Sport builds – Helping customers solve their mechanical issues – Painting classics and bringing them back to life – Custom making motorcycle seat pans – Installing convertible tops – Hand sewing complete custom interiors – Custom making motorcycle seat covers – Changing material in recreational vehicles that are peeling – Recovering boat cushions – You name it; we’re working on it!! There has been a Mongoose Motorsports t-shirt sighting in Kailu, Honolulu County, Hawaii!! Where has your Mongoose t-shirt taken you??!!
We were surfing the internet and found this Fast 8 “Save The Date” on line. How cool is this??!! It is a picture of Vin Diesel taking his daughter for a ride in our Mongoose 1963 Corvette on the set of Fast Five. It is pretty cool to see they are advertising their save the date along side our Corvette!! Proud builder moment; that’s for sure!! We can’t wait to see our Mongoose 1963 Gasser in the upcoming Fast 8 movie!! Any exposure is good exposure!!
We have been so busy in the shop on both the Mongoose Motorsports side of the shop and also on the Portage Trim side of the shop. The warm winter weather that we’ve had so far has been a blessing to us. When the sun is shining our phones ring off the hook and we’ll take it!! No job is too big or small for us to handle!! Here are some of the projects we are currently working on:
Saturday morning we hosted a nice group of fellow Corvette Club members from the Shenango Valley Corvette Club based out of Sharon, PA. Special thanks to everyone in the club that got up early and made Mongoose Motorsports & Portage Trim a place of interest. If you are a member of car club (any car club, not just Corvette clubs!!) and would be interested in scheduling a private tour of our facility feel free to reach out to Tricia schedule a private appointment.
Keep your eyes open for this exciting episode of Power Nation featuring our own Portage Trim. We handcrafted the custom leather interior in this beautiful car. We are very proud of the work we do here at Portage Trim. The acquisition of Mongoose Motorsports and Portage Trim has been an amazing merger. Again I ask you, why settle for less when you can have the best?? We are your one stop restoration, repair/maintenance, paint and interior shop along with being licensed by General Motors to build the 1963 Grand Sport & 1987 GTP Corvettes. Tune in to Power Nation Sunday, January 22, 2017 to see this episode of our customer Dave’s beautiful 1967 Mustang. Special thanks to Garret’s Rod Shop for teaming up with Portage Trim and sending us all their interior work. Yesterday we had a special guest that came all the way from Nicaragua to visit us here at Mongoose Motorsports. During his visit to the United States he toured several prestigious automobile facilities and this is what he had to say “The best part of my trip was getting a photo in the Fast Five car; totally fantastic”!! That comment made our day!! Will, thank you for making Mongoose Motorsports one of your many United States destinations!! Special thanks to our good friend Morgan, President of NEOCC, for making this all happen!!
This has been a fun build!! We are getting ready to move it to the interior side of the shop.
